Teen Skene: The Great Outdoors
We hope you have enjoyed the Teen Skene series of blog posts featuring a whole host of activities suited to families with teenagers visiting Aberdeen.
Our Teen Skene guest blogger is growing up fast and is off to University next month - we wish her all the very best of luck for her new adventures in Edinburgh!
But just one more round-up before she's goes! Here is Teen Skene's recommendations for outdoor activities in and around Aberdeen - so make the most of the final few days of summer with these inspiring activities.
For those outdoors people, there are many places that you can go for an adventurous day out!
Deeside Activity Park, about a 40 minute drive from Aberdeen, has many fun outdoor activities! From quad biking to clay pigeon shooting to go carting there are many different things that you can do. Make sure to wear some old clothes, especially if it is/has been wet as it is extremely muddy!
Drive 30 minutes from Aberdeen and you will arrive at Lochter Activity Centre. Another place where you can experience a great, fun filled day out! It offers a large range of activities including things such as fishing and Zorbing (a water-based activity where go into a big ball and walk across the water!)
Go Ape, situated at Crathes Castle, is an assault course based in the trees. It is a great family day out, especially if there is great weather as it is the perfect place for a picnic! Go Ape also has a Zip-Wire at the end of every section, which are a lot of fun! For only £30 (over 18s) and £24 (under 18s), it is definitely a value-for-money day out!
If you are a car fanatic and love go karting, visit Kartstart in Aberdeen where you can race round the tracks! However, it is quite an expensive activity, so check out the prices (and opening times) online before you go!
