Teen Skene on Aberdeen Theme Parks
Codonas - Family Fun in Aberdeen
With the Summer Sun making a few appearances, Aberdeen’s only amusement park, Codonas, has finally opened its doors for the Summer period!
With lots to do both inside and out and only a short drive from any of the Skene House HotelSuites, you are sure to have a great family day out!
Codonas is home to Aberdeen’s only roller coaster, “The Looping Star.” If you are brave enough to step onto this ride, you are sure to be screaming! There are also less scary roller coasters for those who are not as brave; “The Crazy Train” and “The Apple Family Coaster” (this one is more for young children!).
My personal favourite at Codonas are the Waltzers, these are great fun, however, make sure you don’t go too fast as it can leave you feeling delusional and quite sick!
If you are feeling courageous (and if the weather allows!) have a shot on the “White Water Flume.” However, I will pre warn you and let you know that you are sure to get pretty wet so be prepared!!
A special feature of Codonas is ‘The Grampian Eye,” this is Aberdeen’s own London Eye (but on a much smaller scale). Take a trip on this big wheel to see a sky high view of the city. On a nice day, with clear skies, you are sure to see all the beautiful views of Aberdeen!
New to the attraction park, is “Vertigo” – a skytrail ariel assault course which is sure to get your adrenaline running! Being scared of heights, I have not given it a try but I have heard reviews from more daring people who say it’s really great!
As well as having an indoor mini-golf, Codonas have outdoor mini-golf for those sunny Aberdeen days! “Pirate Island” Adventure Golf is kitted out to make you feel like you are in a tropical country, instead of being in, usually, cold, wet Scotland!
Be sure to try out all the other attractions at codonas such as the haunted mansion, the galleon, the big slide and many others!
After you’re fun filled day at Codonas, there are plenty of beach cafes and restaurants to refuel. Keep an eye out for a later blog post for the low down of the best places to eat!
