Meet the Team: Chrissie Cairns, Receptionist Skene House Rosemount
Checking-in to Skene House Rosemount? Let me introduce you to your receptionist and all round problem solver – Chrissie Cairns!
Chrissie knows Skene House and Aberdeen like the back of her hand so if you’ve got any questions about where to wine & dine or wander around in Aberdeen, I’m pretty sure Chrissie will have a solid recommendation for you.
Chrissie has extensive customer service experience honed from sales roles prior to Skene House. It was during her college training days, when Chrissie was training to be a hair dresser that she took on a part-time role in the kitchen of Skene House Rosemount and, well, the rest they say is history!
Little did Chrissie know when she took on that part-time kitchen role four years ago that she was actually carving a full-time hospitality career. Moving seamlessly from kitchen to conferences, housekeeping to reception has given Chrissie broad knowledge of how each department works and can be called upon at any time to help with minor issues that arise.
Chrissie has grown with the company and now thoroughly enjoys the buzz of reception and dealing directly with the guests. When asked what she enjoys most about her role and the workplace, Chrissie rates guest satisfaction high on her list of the best bits of her job. With regards to her workplace, the term ‘comfort’ extends not only to the guest experience, but to the employees too. Chrissie explains that in her early days with the company she grew to be very comfortable in her roles and enjoyed working with her colleagues, which aided her decision to stay and develop her career at Skene House rather than return to college.
Skene House is committed to developing its employees and Chrissie is a classic example of this. During her four years with the company Chrissie has been on several training courses including hospitality training in customer service, computer skills training and World Host training. Chrissie values the learning and support offered to her and will soon be further enhancing her skills with first aid training and additional reception and customer service training.
