Teen Skene on Coffee and Cupcakes
Looking to kill some time and have a sit down in the afternoon? There are many places in Aberdeen that you can visit for a ‘fly cup’ – a Doric term for a break – that are sure to give you the afternoon snack that you need!
Visit Books and Beans, a small café on Belmont Street, where you can not only grab a coffee/tea and a light snack, but also browse through their second hand book store or use their computers to browse the internet. This quirky, unique café will leave you very relaxed and content.
Just down the road from Skene House Rosemount is The Breadmaker open Monday-Saturday 8.30-5pm. This is a perfect place to go for freshly baked bread and cakes and even sandwiches and salads for a light lunch! It is also a great cause, The Breadmaker is a social enterprise (more on that in our next blog post).
A bit further away from Skene House is my personal favourite, Circles Café situated in Mannofield. A favourite place that my grandma enjoys taking me for a hot croissant and a hot chocolate. With reasonable prices and really great food, you are sure to be satisfied after your visit!
For those with a sweet tooth, try Aberdeen’s cupcake cafes, Dulcia and Blackbird Bakery. Not only are the cupcakes delicious, they are very fun and creative as well! There are many different flavours and themes available so there will be a cupcake to suit your every mood!
If you are in the town centre doing some shopping, there are plently Starbucks, Costas and Pret a Manger’s that you can pop into to help you refuel from your busy shopping afternoon!
We hope you enjoyed our, handpicked, tried and tested review of the many cafes Aberdeen has, so keep your eyes peeled for the others and be sure to enjoy your ‘Fly Cup!’
