New Year's Resolutions

Have you made it your New Year’s Resolution to do more sports, save money or enjoy more time with family and friends??? Then look no further, our Teen Skene blogger has come up with an idea for beating all of your New Year’s Resolutions in one go.

Garthdee SlopesGet some fresh air and laughter at ‘Aberdeen Snowsports Centre’ Garthdee -  home to two slopes for both skiing and snow boarding. There is also another small slope for those who are beginners to the sports. With reasonable prices, you are sure to have a great day out that won’t bust your budget! The Snowsports Centre also offers tubing – where you go down the slope sitting in a ring – which, from personal experience, is hilarious!

For those who wish to see the surrounding countryside of Aberdeenshire, take a trip to Alford and visit the dry ski slope there. It offers the same sports as Garthdee and the tubing here is great too, especially if you get all your mates together, the more the merrierLecht!

For more extreme snow sporters, take a day trip to the Lecht or Glenshee. Although they are further away (about a 2 hour drive), the slopes are challenging but totally worth a visit to get that snow sport fix if you don’t have the time or money to go to the French Alps! One handy tip though….if it's snowing, make sure to check that the roads to these slopes are openLinx Skaters!

Not interested in skiing or snowboarding? You can always try ice skating at Linx arena beside the beach. This is a relatively cheap afternoon out and is sure to offer lots of fun! After your time ice-skating, you can take a walk along the beach where there are a variety of restaurants to chose from...but be careful not to give into temptation and let go of that new year's resolution to eat more healthily!
