Fishing

Aberdeen City and Shire provides many opportunities for fishing – lochs and fisheries, and rivers and estuaries.  The area is world-famous for its salmon fishing but not so much is known about its trout fishing of which there is incredible variety available: brown, blue, sea and rainbow.

There’s so much choice for a day’s or days’ fishing whilst based at Skene House HotelSuites.    Both the experienced angler and keen novice will a challenge awaits them in the rivers Dee, Don and Ythan each of which are within an hour’s drive of Skene House.

Slightly further afield, are the Speyside rivers Deveron, Findhorn, Spey, Lossie and Ugie and Tayside’s North and South Esk rivers – these are all between 1.5 and 2 hours’ drive.

These sites will give you information on the many affordable options in the area plus details on exclusive-use beats.
